Home – Your First Visit
All of our dentists are gentle, caring and highly skilled clinicians. They can put you at ease, especially if you haven’t had a checkup for a while or have had a previous bad experience.
At your initial visit, we start with a chat about your desires, expectations and any issues you may have in relation to your mouth and teeth.
Your dentist will then perform a thorough clean (scaling and polishing) of your teeth.
Typically, 2 dental x-rays will be required for an accurate baseline assessment of your teeth. If you have specific problems such as toothache or other symptoms, more x-rays may be recommended.
After this, your soft tissues will be inspected followed by a tooth by tooth examination, combined with an assessment of your dental x-rays. Your mouth and teeth will also be inspected for other potential issues such as oral cancer, bruxism (clenching/grinding) and cracks in teeth.
You will then be provided with a treatment plan of any other required work along with a quote*.
As preferred providers for all major health funds, our fees are based on your specific insurance provider. Many basic, preventive treatments will be fully covered but, depending on your level of cover, a gap amount may be payable for others and it is your responsibility to be aware of these.
